The Rally Hotel is an independent, lifestyle hotel located in Denver’s downtown playground, McGregor Square. Located in the heart of Lower Downtown, The Rally is representative of all that Colorado has to offer. From the railway to the Rockies, Denver’s industrial roots to mile high skies, moments of discovery are found around every corner.

Our 182-room hotel is adjacent to the home of the Colorado Rockies, Coors Field and located on McGregor Square. This full-city block is the epicenter of entertainment featuring restaurants, retail and a circulate plaza with a stadium sized LED screen, that will host sports entertainment, movie nights and private events. The Rally inspires the playful side in all of us.

Job Overview

This position is responsible for leading group sales strategy and execution for The Maven Hotel and The Rally Hotel. The role oversees new business development, account management, team leadership, forecasting, market analysis, and cross-functional communication to achieve or exceed budgeted room night, ADR, revenue, and market share goals across both properties.

Responsibilities

•  
• Solicit, negotiate, and book new and repeat group business through proactive sales efforts, including outside sales calls, direct outreach, referrals, property tours, networking, industry events, and account development. Maximize group room revenue, room nights, ADR, ancillary spend, and overall profitability to meet or exceed established goals. (45%)
• Lead and supervise the group sales team. Attract, retain, and motivate employees through hiring, training, development, coaching, empowerment, and ongoing performance management. Conduct performance and salary reviews, resolve issues, provide clear and open communication, and recommend disciplinary action or termination when appropriate. (10%)
• Recommend and assist in the development, implementation, monitoring, and control of the annual group sales budget for both properties. Analyze competitive positioning, market trends, booking pace, lost business, customer needs, and client feedback to adjust sales strategies and improve conversion, revenue performance, and market share. Prepare and review forecasts, period reports, sales activity reports, rate reports, and other performance data to assess productivity against budget, plan, and marketplace expectations. (10%)
• Implement Sage and franchisor programs, where applicable, and direct sales efforts in a manner consistent with Sage’s policies, procedures, and service standards. Ensure strategies and actions support budgeted room night, average rate, revenue, and customer service goals. (10%)
• Develop and continually enhance relationships with key corporate, business, travel industry, association, and community accounts to maintain high visibility and increase market share. Build and maintain a strategic account base with a focus on prospecting, account penetration, repeat business, and cross-selling opportunities between both properties. (10%)
• Partner with Revenue Management, Marketing, Catering/Events, Operations, and other hotel departments to ensure pricing, positioning, contracting, and service delivery align with business objectives and client expectations. Act as a liaison through weekly meetings and ongoing communication to provide timely information and ensure group needs are carried out as contracted. (5%)

Qualifications

Education/Formal Training

A four year college degree or equivalent education/experience.

Experience

Three to four years of employment in a related position with this company or other companies.

Knowledge/Skills

• Requires advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the sales, marketing, hospitality profession.  This includes experiential knowledge required for management of people, complex problems and efficient sales activities. 
• Must possess a working knowledge of Delphi.
• Makes decisions within the standards of the position which can impact more than one department, but usually not more than one hotel.  Only general policies and procedures are available for guidance and superior is kept informed only of general directions of assignment.
• Requires analyzing activities or information involving some original data manipulation or interpretation to arrive at logical conclusions.
• Must possess highly developed communication skills to frequently negotiate, convince, sell and influence other managerial personnel, hotel guest(s) and/or corporate clients.
