Job Overview

The Lobby Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and overall presentation of the hotel’s public spaces, including the lobby, entrances, hallways, and elevators. This role plays a key part in creating a positive first impression by ensuring all public areas are clean, well-maintained, and welcoming for guests at all times.

This position operates in a physically active, guest-facing environment requiring frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift. The role may include early morning, evening, weekend, and holiday schedules based on operational needs. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, a hospitality mindset, and the ability to provide friendly assistance to guests when needed.

Job Responsibilities

Public Area Cleaning & Maintenance

• Clean and maintain the hotel lobby, entrances, hallways, elevators, and other public areas.
• Vacuum carpets, mop floors, and polish surfaces including glass, wood, and metal fixtures.
• Clean windows, doors, and high-touch surfaces to ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards.
• Empty trash receptacles and replace liners regularly throughout assigned areas.

Restroom & Supply Maintenance

• Clean and restock public restrooms with necessary supplies (soap, paper towels, tissue, etc.).
• Ensure restroom cleanliness and presentation meet hotel standards at all times.

Lobby Presentation & Organization

• Arrange furniture, décor, magazines, and brochures in a neat and presentable manner.
• Maintain an organized, welcoming, and visually appealing lobby environment.
• Ensure all public spaces reflect brand and cleanliness standards.

Guest Assistance & Service Support

• Assist guests with directions, general inquiries, or light luggage support when needed.
• Provide courteous and professional guest interaction at all times.
• Support front desk, concierge, and housekeeping teams as needed.

Safety, Reporting & Compliance

• Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, spills, or damaged furniture promptly.
• Follow all hotel safety procedures and cleanliness standards.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and operational guidelines.

Job Requirements

Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience: Previous housekeeping, janitorial, or hospitality experience preferred.

Travel required: No travel required.

Physical requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and kneeling.
• Ability to lift and carry moderate weights (typically up to 25–50 lbs.).
• Ability to push and pull cleaning carts and equipment.
• Continuous physical activity in indoor public areas.
• Exposure to cleaning chemicals and varying indoor environments.
