Job Description

What You’ll Do

As a Veterinary Receptionist, you’ll play an important role in keeping our hospital organized and daily operations running smoothly. Your responsibilities will include:

• Welcome clients and patients warmly while maintaining a clean, professional, and inviting reception area.
• Answer phone calls and emails, respond to questions, and direct concerns to the appropriate team member.
• Schedule veterinary appointments efficiently to support patient needs and daily hospital flow.
• Check clients in and out, process payments, and complete front-desk transactions accurately.
• Listen to client concerns and provide compassionate, discreet emotional support during stressful or difficult situations.
• Recognize urgent concerns and promptly communicate with the veterinary team when a patient may need immediate attention.
• Help clients navigate their veterinary visits and connect them with the appropriate team members for questions about care and treatment.
• Collaborate with veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and veterinary assistants to support clear communication and exceptional service.

Working in a veterinary hospital means you may encounter unpleasant odors and noises, animal waste, and potential exposure to bites, scratches, or contagious diseases.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For

• At least one year of receptionist or veterinary experience preferred.
• A compassionate, calm, and professional approach to client service.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to multitask in a busy environment.
• Excellent organizational skills and computer proficiency.
• A team-oriented attitude and a willingness to support coworkers.
• A self-starter mindset with a desire to learn and grow in veterinary medicine.
