Description
At The Recovery Village Palm Beach at Baptist Health, we believe recovery starts with compassionate, patient-centered care. As a Behavioral Health Technician, you’ll play an important role in supporting adults receiving treatment for substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.
Working alongside nursing, clinical, and facility leadership teams, you’ll help patients stay safe, engaged, and connected to their individualized treatment goals. This is a hands-on opportunity to build meaningful connections, develop your behavioral health skills, and contribute to an environment where every patient is treated with dignity and respect.
What you’ll do:
- Build meaningful connections: Engage with patients throughout the day, encourage participation in meals, groups, recreational activities, and community interactions, and foster a supportive atmosphere.
- Promote safety and well-being: Conduct patient safety checks, room checks, and shift handoffs while helping maintain a safe, structured treatment environment.
- Support the treatment journey: Assist with admissions, patient orientation, belongings checks, documentation, and daily routines.
- Partner with clinical teams: Assist nursing staff with vital signs, breathalyzer testing, urine drug screens, pulse oximetry, and other approved patient care procedures.
- Recognize and respond: Observe changes in patient behavior, mood, or physical well-being and promptly communicate concerns to the treatment team.
- Make a difference in challenging moments: Use calm communication, de-escalation techniques, and crisis intervention strategies to help manage difficult situations.
- Champion compassionate care: Maintain professional boundaries, follow infection prevention and safety protocols, and model respectful, recovery-focused behavior.
