We’re looking for an NDE Level II Inspector to join our Quality team and perform the critical inspections and non-destructive examinations that help ensure our fabricated equipment meets the most rigorous customer, code, and regulatory requirements.

What This Role Really Is

This is a hands-on quality inspection role performing NDE examinations and weld/fabrication inspections on custom-engineered crane and hoist equipment destined for highly regulated environments.

You’ll work directly in the fabrication shop setting up NDE equipment, performing examinations in your certified methods, evaluating indications, reading engineering drawings, and documenting everything with the accuracy and traceability these industries demand.

You’ll also coordinate with Quality, Engineering, and Production personnel to complete required inspections while maintaining inspection independence and procedural compliance. Your findings matter, and the integrity of your work directly protects the people who operate around the equipment we build.

What You’ll Do

NDE & Inspection

• Perform Level II NDE examinations in qualified methods (UT, MT, PT, VT) in accordance with approved procedures, applicable codes, specifications, and acceptance criteria
• Perform weld and fabrication inspections per applicable AWS, ASME, customer, drawing, and project requirements
• Set up and use NDE equipment and inspection tools; evaluate indications and document results within your certified method and level
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, weld symbols, specifications, inspection plans, procedures, and acceptance criteria
• Coordinate with Quality and Production to complete required inspections while maintaining inspection independence

Quality & Regulatory Compliance

• Support projects with nuclear and other stringent quality requirements, including inspections, testing, documentation, and traceability
• Perform work in accordance with AWS, ASME, NQA-1, customer specifications, and internal procedures as applicable
• Identify and clearly document nonconforming conditions, inspection findings, and quality issues for evaluation and disposition
• Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits by providing accurate inspection records and objective evidence

Documentation & Records

• Complete NDE reports, inspection reports, weld records, and related quality documentation accurately and legibly
• Maintain complete, accurate, and traceable inspection records suitable for project turnover packages and audit review
• Ensure inspection and test results are properly documented and submitted per established procedures

What We’re Looking For

Qualifications

• Current or previously documented ASNT Level II qualification/certification in one or more applicable NDE methods
• UT Level II highly preferred; MT and PT strongly preferred
• Hands-on experience performing NDE and quality inspections in manufacturing, structural fabrication, heavy equipment, or a related industrial environment
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, weld symbols, codes, specifications, and inspection requirements
• Experience completing and maintaining NDE reports, inspection records, and traceable quality documentation
• Experience performing and documenting inspections for nuclear or other highly regulated work is highly preferred

Certifications (Required or Preferred)

• ASNT Level II in UT, MT, and/or PT; UT Level II highly preferred
• AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) is preferred but not required
• Additional NDE method qualifications or relevant inspection certifications are a plus

Technical Skills

• Working knowledge of NDE techniques, weld inspection, fabrication processes, and common inspection equipment
• Familiarity with AWS, ASME, NQA-1, ISO 9001, and customer-specific quality requirements as applicable
• Ability to recognize, evaluate, document, and communicate inspection findings and nonconforming conditions

What Success Looks Like

First 30 Days

• Learn ACECO’s Quality program, inspection procedures, and NDE requirements
• Become familiar with engineering documentation, project requirements, and the fabrication shop environment
• Build relationships with Quality, Engineering, and Production personnel
• Observe and participate in inspections and NDE activities with guidance
• Understand ACECO’s documentation standards, traceability requirements, and reporting expectations

Days 31–60

• Begin performing NDE examinations and inspections with increasing independence
• Complete NDE reports and inspection documentation accurately and on time
• Coordinate inspection activities with Production scheduling
• Identify and document nonconforming conditions per established procedures
• Demonstrate familiarity with applicable codes, specifications, and acceptance criteria

Days 61 and on

• Independently perform assigned NDE examinations and weld/fabrication inspections
• Maintain accurate, traceable inspection records suitable for project turnover and audit review
• Proactively coordinate with Quality and Production to keep inspection activities aligned with project schedules
• Support audit readiness with organized records and objective evidence
• Demonstrate consistent ownership, integrity, and commitment to quality standards

Work Environment & Physical Demands

• Primarily fabrication shop and inspection environments with some office/documentation work
• Regular exposure to welding, machining, material handling, and manufacturing areas
