The Clinical Research Coordinator is an entry human subjects researcher, responsible for conducting and assisting in clinical research studies under the supervision of the Principal Investigator or senior clinical research staff. This individual obtains informed consent, collects, maintains and organizes study information. Assists in the preparation and submission of grant applications and documents (e.g., Institutional Review Board, Grants and Contracts Office).

The Department of Health Sciences and Policies at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai seeks a skilled Clinical Research Coordinator to assist in our recently funded grant to increase awareness of lung cancer screening among screening eligible African American/Black New Yorkers; CLEAR-Lung: Community-Level Effectiveness to Advance Reach in Lung Cancer Screening.  The goal of the program is to compare two community-based education programs to encourage lung cancer screening.  The program seeks to identify barriers that individuals might have in getting screened and works to make it easier to understand why these screening tests are important.

As an integral part of our referral management operations, we are seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator to help advance this effort. Knowledge of program development, health care policies and procedures, public health issues, community outreach and engagement and health education planning; including education evaluation is important. Responsibilities include the day-to-day oversight and management of the project.
