As a Wine Sales Associate, you’ll play an important role in creating memorable experiences for our guests while becoming part of our rich history of hospitality.

This is a seasonal, Part time or full-time opportunity ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, with retail experience, has a passion for photography, and thrives in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

As a Retail Associate, you’ll be on the front lines of delivering exceptional guest service. From welcoming guests in our station’s retail lobby to assisting them before they board our lunch, dinner, and legacy, and Santa train experiences, you’ll help create a memorable start and finish to their visit.

Photography is an important part of this role. You’ll capture special moments for our guests, operate digital photo printing equipment, and process photo orders, helping visitors take home a lasting memory of their Wine Train experience.

You’ll also work across our wine and gift shop, coffee station, and photo station, combining retail sales, photography, and hospitality in a dynamic environment. We’re looking for someone who is outgoing, energetic, professional, and comfortable balancing multiple responsibilities throughout the day.

Requirements

YOU OWN THIS IF YOU HAVE…

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Availability to work weekends is required.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Photography experience is strongly preferred, including taking guest photos, processing images, and working confidently with digital cameras or photography equipment.
• A friendly, professional demeanor and a passion for creating memorable guest experiences.
• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks.
• Availability to work a seasonal: part-time or full-time schedule during the operating season.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Photography, photo sales, or photo printing experience.
• Retail sales and customer service experience.
• Familiarity with POS systems and retail operations.
• Some wine knowledge and the ability to make recommendations.
• Experience operating digital photo printers or processing photo orders.
• Coffee, beverage service, or hospitality experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Photography & Guest Memories

• Photograph guests and capture memorable moments during their Wine Train visit.
• Provide a friendly, professional, and enjoyable photography experience.
• Operate digital photo printing equipment and process photo orders accurately.
• Assist guests with photo selections and purchases.
• Maintain photo equipment, organize supplies, and restock printing materials as needed.

Retail Sales & Guest Service

• Drive wine and merchandise sales through exceptional customer service.
• Engage with guests in a friendly, knowledgeable, and professional manner.
• Process sales transactions accurately using a POS system.
• Follow established cash-handling and transaction procedures.
• Price, ticket, stock, and replenish merchandise and displays.

Coffee & Wine Service

• Prepare and serve beverages while operating the coffee and wine bar station.
• Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked work areas.
• Support team members across retail, photography, and beverage service as business needs require.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to lift 25–50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Ability to stand and/or sit for extended periods.
• Ability to remain at a POS or photo station for prolonged periods.
• Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the shift.
• Ability to operate photography and digital printing equipment.

COMPENSATION

$19.00–$24.00 per hour (gratuity included) 

SCHEDULE & SEASONAL EMPLOYMENT

This is a seasonal position. Candidates should be prepared to work weekends, holidays, and evenings. Scheduling will reflect operational needs and guest volume throughout the season.
