Who We Are:

Children’s National Rehabilitation and Specialized Care Center (RSC) provides family-centered medical and therapy services for children from infancy through age 21 with complex medical conditions.

Our inpatient programs deliver transitional medical care and rehabilitation, helping children safely move from acute care settings to home. Our outpatient services extend this care through ongoing, individualized medical and therapy support in a family-focused environment.

At RSC, you’ll be part of an interdisciplinary team of highly skilled and compassionate professionals who are committed to making a meaningful difference. Our clinicians collaborate closely to deliver innovative, personalized care and the most advanced rehabilitation services in the region. We invite you to grow your career with us while helping children reach their fullest potential.

What You’ll Do:

As an Inpatient Speech-Language Pathologist, you evaluate and treat infants, children, and adolescents with complex communication, cognitive-linguistic, feeding, and swallowing disorders in a pediatric rehabilitation setting. You collaborate with an interdisciplinary team that includes physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists, psychologists, respiratory therapists, educators, and families to develop individualized treatment plans that support each child's recovery, functional independence, and quality of life.

Your responsibilities include conducting comprehensive assessments; providing evidence-based intervention for speech, language, cognitive-communication, and dysphagia disorders; implementing augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems when appropriate; educating caregivers and team members; and supporting safe feeding and swallowing practices. You work with patients with a wide range of diagnoses, including acquired brain injury, stroke, spinal cord injury, neurological disorders, developmental disabilities, complex medical conditions, and other rehabilitation needs.

Through family-centered care, you help children maximize their communication abilities, participate more fully in daily activities, and achieve meaningful goals as they transition through rehabilitation and toward discharge.
