You will also work with our award-winning photographers and reporters in the newsroom.

We’re looking for someone with a mix of experience in visual journalism, graphic design, and social media who can take our journalism and tell stories visually for Instagram, YouTube and TikTok.

Show us how you can make the news informative and engaging, and how you think about bringing journalism and essential resources to new audiences on social media.

Visuals Producer, Social Video ADDENDUM

The Social Video-Visuals Producer is a visual journalist who has sharp skills creating videos on social platforms, such as Instagram, TikTok and YouTube Shorts. This producer thrives on turning news stories into memorable vertical videos, while working with journalists in a collaborative process.

The Social Video-Visuals Producer creates videos from start to finish – ideating, scripting, shooting, editing and publishing – and is highly collaborative with newsroom colleagues in order to tell these stories. You love the Bay Area, enjoy telling our unique stories and are as enthusiastic about working in the field as you are of executing great edits.

Journalism ethics is a must, so you must know how to gather news – both with reporters and on your own – and tell stories on social platforms in a fair and accurate manner.

KQED envisions a public media organization with a culture that centers on human dignity, equity, and belonging. This will enable us to better serve and reflect the Bay Area through diverse and inclusive storytelling.

We value the contributions of marginalized people in society — including Black, Indigenous, and all people of color, people with disabilities, and LGBTQIA+ people — and we believe that these communities must be centered in the work we do, and we strongly encourage members of these communities to apply.
