Dreamland Prep Cook

The Prep Cook at Aviator Nation Dreamland is responsible for prepping, cooking, and assisting in the overall food production for the establishment. Key responsibilities include completing prep lists, preparing and portioning ingredients, washing and cutting food according to the Chef's specifications, and maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitized workstation. This role requires strong knife skills, thorough organization, and a solid understanding of health department regulations and basic food safety practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Adhere strictly to all standard recipes and quality specifications.
• Wash, peel, cut, and prep all raw produce for kitchen use.
• Trim, portion, and prep all raw proteins according to specifications.
• Prepare, batch, and store all house-made sauces, dressings, and marinades.
• Portion and package food items per specified quantities and order requirements.
• Assist line cooks with station replenishment and support during service.
• Receive, unpack, inspect, and organize incoming supply orders and deliveries.
• Properly label, date, and rotate all prepped ingredients and perishable items in accordance with FIFO guidelines.

Qualifications & Required Skills

• Proficiency in basic cooking techniques and culinary fundamentals.
• Strong knife handling skills and precision.
• Comprehensive knowledge of food safety guidelines, sanitation protocols, and health department standards.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities with high efficiency and speed.
• Ability to work effectively, stay calm, and maintain composure in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Strong verbal communication and teamwork skills.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

• Ability to kneel, bend, stoop, crouch, reach, climb, walk, and stand for long durations of time.

• Ability to move and lift equipment and supplies of up to 50 pounds.
• Vision abilities include close, distance, color peripheral, and depth perception. 
• The noise level in the work environment is moderate.

● Starting rate of $20-$24/hr DOE
