Company Description

Job Description

Who will you be working with?

Wabtec’s Train Control Office Systems (TCOS) group develops and maintains a suite of products and applications known as the Train Management & Dispatch System (TMDS). TMDS provides our customers with a comprehensive, integrated set of tools and capabilities to manage and control train movements across their rail networks.

This role is part of an embedded software engineering team located at our BNSF customer site, so you will collaborate with both Wabtec and BNSF personnel as needed. Within Wabtec, you will work closely with a Program Manager, Engineering Manager, Software Engineers, Systems Engineers, Test Engineers, and Support Engineers. While interaction with BNSF personnel will be less frequent, as the Program Manager and Engineering Manager serve as the primary points of contact between BNSF and Wabtec, you will engage directly with BNSF resources as needed to troubleshoot issues, support software triage activities, and contribute to design initiatives.

How will you make a difference?

As part of the embedded Wabtec team at BNSF, you will represent Wabtec with a professional, positive, and One Wabtec mindset in your day-to-day assignments and interactions at the customer site. By maintaining a customer-focused, quality-first approach to the team’s delivery commitments, you will contribute to the continued success of the long-standing relationship between BNSF and Wabtec, one of Wabtec’s key customer accounts.

As a Software Engineer on this embedded team, you will design scalable, stable solutions while analyzing and resolving production issues across a group of applications. These applications include components of the TMDS product suite, ranging from server-side applications that are critical to integration and overall system functionality to customer-facing desktop applications. You will help ensure adherence to established engineering practices through peer reviews, mentoring team members, and guiding problem-solving efforts. Your expertise will be instrumental in delivering high-quality solutions that meet customer needs and advance our technological capabilities.
