Position Summary

The New & Used Sales Associate is responsible for assisting guests in selecting, presenting, and purchasing new and pre-owned vehicles. This role guides guests through the entire sales process, from initial inquiry to vehicle delivery, while delivering exceptional guest service and achieving sales targets. The ideal candidate is energetic, guest-focused, and motivated to succeed in a fast-paced automotive retail environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Greet and assist guests in selecting new and used vehicles based on needs and preferences. 
• Present vehicle features, benefits, pricing, and financing options clearly and professionally. 
• Conduct vehicle demonstrations and test drives with customers. 
• Build and maintain strong relationships with guests to encourage repeat and referral business. 
• Follow up with guests after initial contact to maintain engagement and close sales. 
• Maintain accurate records of guest interactions in CRM systems. 
• Work with internet leads, showroom traffic, and phone inquiries to generate sales opportunities. 
• Collaborate with finance managers to ensure smooth transaction completion. 
• Stay knowledgeable about inventory, promotions, and manufacturer incentives. 
• Appraise trade-in vehicles and provide accurate evaluations. 
• Achieve or exceed monthly sales targets and performance goals. 
• Ensure all paperwork is completed accurately and in compliance with dealership policies. 
• Maintain a professional appearance and guest-focused attitude at all times. 
• Participate in sales meetings, training sessions, and dealership events. 
• Perform additional duties as assigned by sales management.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED required. 
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred. 
• Prior sales or guest service experience preferred. 
• Automotive sales experience is a plus but not required. 
• Training provided for qualified candidates. 

Physical Requirements

• Frequent standing, walking, and moving throughout showroom and lot. 
• Ability to sit for periods while completing paperwork or computer tasks. 
• Ability to drive and operate vehicles for demonstrations and test drives. 
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25–50 pounds occasionally. 
• Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and electronically. 

Work Environment

Fast-paced automotive dealership sales environment with frequent interaction with guests, sales staff, and management. Work includes both indoor showroom activity and outdoor vehicle demonstrations, with moderate noise levels and occasional extended hours based on guest traffic and sales demand.
