Staff Accountant

Due to massive growth, we are looking to add a Staff Accountant to Nth Degree’s corporate accounting team. The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the accounting department through monthly close activities, account reconciliations, journal entries, account analysis, and general ledger maintenance. This role will assist with ensuring the accuracy and completeness of the company's financial records and will play an important role in the timely execution of the month-end close process and annual audits.

The Staff Accountant will prepare and analyze various balance sheet and income statement accounts, identify and resolve discrepancies, and provide supporting documentation for assigned accounts. The role will work closely with other members of the Accounting and Finance teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and adherence to accounting policies and procedures

You will report directly to the Accounting Manager and be based out of Nth Degree’s corporate office in Duluth GA. We do function in a hybrid capacity; typically, two days in the office, three days remote. 

Salary is $70,000-75,000

What You’ll Do:

Month-End Close & General Accounting 

• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigate reconciling items for assigned GL accounts including but not limited to, cash, AR, AP, prepaids, accruals, fixed assets.
• Prepare and post journal recurring and non-recuring entries with appropriate supporting documentation.
• Maintain fixed asset schedules and assist with recording additions, disposals, transfers, and monthly depreciation.
• Analyze general ledger account activity and investigate unusual or unexpected balances and variances in a timely manner.
• Maintain reconciliation schedules and supporting documentation.
• Assist with monthly revenue and COGS analysis and reconciliation to the general ledger and supporting systems.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reconciliations, and close procedures.
• Work collaboratively with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Operations, and other departments to resolve accounting issues and obtain necessary information
• Other duties as assigned.

  Who You Are: 

• A bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
• 1–3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a general ledger or month-end close environment.
• Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, Workday, Microsoft Dynamics, or NetSuite.
• Proficient with MS Office (Microsoft Excel, Word, and Office)
• Understanding of accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, depreciation, and other fundamental accounting concepts.
• Knowledge of GAAP accounting principles
• Experience executing month-end close processes.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, organized, and able to work independently while knowing when to ask questions or escalate issues. This individual should have a solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and be comfortable working with reconciliations, journal entries, and financial data, and continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and controls.
