Salary: $19.95/hr. - $21.99/hr. (Bilingual Spanish - $21.75/hr. - $23.97/hr.) Shift timings: Sunday-Wednesday 1pm-11:30pm

Job Summary:
Works a fixed post position in the Facility Central Control Area of the program; monitors movement of staff with youth throughout the facility, via security video and radio communication. Responsible for duties associated with the safety and security of residents and staff, and assists Youth Care Workers with some clerical aspects.Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitors movement of workers and youth within the facility, efficiently communicates with on duty staff regarding locations and movements of youth, may assign staff to areas of need as necessary. Maintains informed of youth run risk levels and safety plans.
- Maintain safety and security of the physical infrastructure by performing routine and random security duties.
- Operates communication equipment including closed circuit video, staff radios, and maintains surveillance of all occupied areas.
- Issues staff radios and maintains key accountability.
- Informs on duty staff via radio communication of any safety and security issues while preventing and detecting security breaches. Intervene and report on any remarkable unauthorized behaviors of the residential population.
- Maintains Daily Activity Communication Log, Shift Summary and other required documentation. Monitors transitions, allows all entry and movement of youth.
- Provides shift briefing to on-coming shift.
- Ascertains, at the start of shift with off-going staff, that (a) communication board is correct; (b) daily documentations are correct
- Assists with intakes as required.
- Performs other assigned tasks as required.
- Is aware of Morrison Compliance Program including Compliance Officer, Compliance Standards of Conduct, and Employee Compliance Hotline. Understands Compliance Standards of Conduct and signs attestation document. Completes all assigned compliance, HIPAA, client privacy, and fraud, waste, and abuse training. Knows how to report any client privacy or fraud, waste, or abuse concerns.
- Demonstrate a commitment to developing a thorough knowledge and application of the Sanctuary model and other organizational policies & practices.
- Participate in staff development, in-services, and training related to workplace effectiveness; model professional behaviors and implement improvements to business practices with awareness of their impact in a trauma-informed behavioral healthcare organization.
Core Competencies:
- Knowledge and/or ability to learn Control Room audio-visual equipment;
- Ability to maintain composure and professional boundaries in chaotic situations; ability to effectively diffuse or de-escalate potentially volatile situations with clients and/or visitors.
- Ability to keep accurate records;
- Ability to follow oral and written directives;
- Availability to work on any of the seven days of the week; availability to work any shift of the day, including, but not limited to, Swing, or Early Morning, or both;
- Ability to communicate effectively, verbally, and in writing,
- Base knowledge of program policy and procedure, including the importance of safety and security in a residential setting.
Required Position Qualifications:
- At least 21 years of age;
- High School or equivalent Diploma;
- At least one year of experience working with youth, preferably in a monitored or highly-secured, residential facility
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
Preferred Position Qualifications:
- Bilingual in English and Spanish. Must clear a language proficiency test for Spanish.
- Experience working in a secure/detention center setting or loss prevention
- Criminal justice coursework
Other Requirements:

- Proof of Vaccination (MMR, Varicella, DTap & Influenza annually)
- Bloodborne pathogen training first day of employment.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and personal auto liability insurance
- Travel between program locations
- CPR/First Aid certification within 30 days of hire and kept current
- All other applicable trainings as required with necessary updates and reoccurrences
Working Conditions:
Environment: Work is done in clinical offices, community settings, including Morrison Residential, administration buildings, public locations, and social service sites. Breaks and meals are subject to interruption. Universal Precautions and remaining alert to the environment are critical to address the potential for violent behavior, exposure to disease, biohazards, noise, and contaminants. Mental demands: Work assigned is diverse and may involve addressing new and unique circumstances. The work might be unpredictable and disrupts planned tasks, requiring flexible time management. Physical demands: Ability to remain calm and emotionally available serving youth, adults and or families who have experienced trauma. Proficient with office equipment and physical movement. Ability to perform physical interventions if needed in accordance with program and training. Physical dexterity for reaching, stooping, and repetitive wrist and hand motions.
