Surgical Technologist- Mather OR Weekender role

Registered Nurses: We're hiring for the Mather Operative Services Weekender Program

Our 26-room Mather OR is part of UH Cleveland Medical Center’s Level 1 Trauma Center, providing 24/7  cardiac, thoracic, transplant, neuro, general, surgical oncology, vascular, robotics, ENT, oral, plastics, spine and ortho trauma procedures.

Saturdays & Sundays 6:45am- 7:30pm weekenders will be compensated at 1.5 times their regular hourly rate for these shifts. Individuals in Weekender roles qualify for full-time medical and dental benefits, whereas eligibility for all other benefits is at part-time levels.

A Brief Overview
 

The Surgical Technologist maintains sterile conditions, anticipates the needs of the surgical team, and ensures that all instruments and supplies are available and properly handled. The first level in the Surgical Technologist career ladder.

What You Will Do
 

• Provide safe efficient age specific nursing care to patients/families using nursing interventions in order to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health status.
• Provide patient care/function in a primary scrub position.
• Assist with technical responsibilities in assigned operative procedures.
• Assure appropriate instruments/supplies are present and in proper working condition.
• Provide labeled medications with correct doses on the sterile field.
• Support the operative team, includes following patient care hand off protocol.
• Actively participate in the quality improvement process.
• Involved in learning and self-improvement.

• Complies with all policies and standards.

• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
