This role is part of our Space and Launch business, which has contributed to the nation’s space programs for decades by delivering complete solutions from concept to flight. As a CNC Machinist II, you will set up and operate computer numerical control (CNC) machines to manufacture precision components that meet strict engineering and customer specifications. You will contribute to high‑quality machining operations by performing accurate setups, executing in‑process inspections, maintaining equipment, and supporting a clean, organized, and efficient production environment.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates CNC machines to produce components that meet engineering and customer requirements.
• Performs machining tasks including material loading and unloading, deburring, in‑process inspections, and preparing completed parts for packaging.
• Verifies part accuracy using appropriate measuring tools, setup tools, and inspection techniques.
• Reads and interprets blueprints and applies shop inspection methods.
• Troubleshoots machining and production issues using supported tools and established procedures.
• Maintains production quality through proper machine operation and consistent quality‑control practices.
• Supports work across multiple machining centers as needed.
• Maintains equipment and tooling to ensure reliable and efficient operation.
• Keeps work areas clean, organized, and free of debris.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Typically, 2–5 years of experience operating shop tools and equipment in a machining environment.
• Ability to read blueprints, understand G‑code and M‑code, troubleshoot production issues, and perform inspections.
• General mechanical aptitude, dexterity, and proficiency with measuring and setup tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency with lathe setup and operation (Mazak Integrex and Fanuc controls a plus).
• Experience working with a variety of machines, including 3‑ to 5‑axis equipment.
• Experience in turning operations.
• Availability for any shift.
