Receiver II Yard/Warehouse

PURPOSE

Handles daily receipt of merchandise received from vendor trucks by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Examines shipment for defects and shortages against receiving documents.
• Records factors causing goods to be returned.
• Unloads and moves incoming shipments to storage.
• Pulls orders.
• Forwards approved receiving documents to appropriate department for processing.
• May drive for deliveries if needed.  May check truck to verify accuracy of load.
• May provide on-the-job training to less experienced Receivers.
• Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
