Overview

LAMUSE d’OR offers a French coastal dining experience at Kaiya Beach Resort in Inlet Beach, Florida. We are looking for a motivated, passionate, and hardworking Pastry Cook who is excited to learn, grow, and develop their skills in a professional restaurant kitchen. The ideal candidate has a basic understanding of French pastry techniques and restaurant pastry production, a strong work ethic, and a genuine curiosity for learning new techniques, methods, and styles of pastry.  This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with their hands, takes pride in cleanliness and organization, andwants to build a strong foundation in professional pastry while working alongside an experienced culinary team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily pastry preparation, production, and service.
• Prepare and execute foundational French pastry components, including creams, doughs, batters, custards, fillings, and other preparations.
• Work efficiently and professionally on the service line, assisting with dessert plating and execution during service.
• Prepare ingredients for cooking and baking, including portioning, chopping, weighing, measuring, and properly storing ingredients.
• Wash, peel, cut, and prepare fresh fruits and vegetables as needed.
• Accurately weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes and established production standards.
• Prepare and cook/bake pastry items according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and production checklists.
• Maintain consistency in portioning, presentation, texture, and quality throughout production and service.
• Assist with daily prep lists, production lists, and organization of the pastry department.
• Follow proper opening, closing, cleaning, and sanitation procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pastry station throughout the shift.
• Properly label, date, rotate, and store ingredients and finished products.
• Communicate effectively and respectfully with pastry chefs, chefs, cooks, servers, and other members of the team.
• Demonstrate professionalism, hospitality, and respect toward guests and fellow team members at all times.
• Follow all food-safety and sanitation standards.
• Be willing and eager to learn new techniques, recipes, equipment, and styles of pastry production.
• Assist with additional kitchen responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a professional kitchen, bakery, pastry department, or culinary program preferred.
• Basic knowledge of French pastry fundamentals.
• Basic understanding of restaurant production and professional kitchen operations.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and during active service.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes and established standards.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Strong sense of cleanliness, organization, and personal responsibility.
• Positive attitude and willingness to receive instruction and constructive feedback.
• Strong communication skills and a professional attitude.
• A genuine desire to learn, improve, and grow within the pastry profession is essential.
• Availability for evening, weekend, and holiday shifts, along with scheduled training.
• Food Handler Certification preferred.

• While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to walk and stand for 6+ hours per day.
•  Additionally, they will frequently be asked to use their hands and arms to reach, carry, pull, and lift up  25 lbs.
