As the Mechanical Engineer, Structures you will play a critical role in driving our mission to make data universally available, secure and actionable anywhere on the planet. The ideal candidate has prior experience working on a spacecraft engineering team with a passion for designing and manufacturing satellite structures. This position will report to the VP, Satellite Platform and will work closely with the broader engineering team. This position requires at least 3 solid years (non-academic) Satellite experience This role is based in our Saratoga, CA office.

What you'll be doing:

Work closely with the satellite sub-system teams to design satellite structures and mechanisms
Be a CAD modeling expert (SolidWorks) managing your CAD assemblies and drawings
Develop build documents and drawings for your hardware
Define, build and test your designs from 3D printed engineering units to flight hardware
Support the fabrication assembly and testing of our flight build

What you will bring to this role:

At least 5 years of hands-on experience using your CAD skills to develop and build models and drawings
Experience successfully implementing your design solutions in a complex space
Experience with mechanical design to survive extreme environments and challenging mass constraints

Additional Requirements

This is a fast-paced, high-impact environment - flexibility to occasionally work extended hours or weekends during critical periods is expected. We are redefining how satellites are designed, manufactured and used—so we’re looking for candidates with passion, deep knowledge and direct experience on LEO satellite component development, design and in-orbit activities. If that’s your experience – then we’ll be immediately wow-ed.
