Electrical Eng. Technician

Qualifications

Required

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2-5 years of related experience.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, cable harness drawings, and engineering documentation.
• Foundational understanding of basic electricity (voltage, current, resistance) and practical aptitude using measurement equipment.
• Experience performing continuity, resistance, and functional electrical tests.
• Familiarity with hand tools and test tools commonly used for cable harness inspection and verification.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to follow instructions precisely, and maintain accuracy in repetitive tasks.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office or similar) for recording test results and accessing work instructions.
• Ability to  troubleshoot electrical faults (opens, shorts, mis‑wires, intermittent conditions).
• Ability to work safely with energized assemblies and follow ESD guidelines.
• U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain a security clearance.

Preferred

• Experience testing cable harnesses, electronic assemblies, or electro‑mechanical systems in aerospace, defense, or similar high‑reliability industries.
• Familiarity with IPC/WHMA‑A‑620, IPC‑610, or J‑STD‑001 requirements for cable and electronic assembly workmanship.
• Knowledge of automated test systems, test scripts, or test software interfaces.
• Experience with hi‑pot testing, insulation resistance testing, or environmental/functional acceptance testing.
• Background in assembling or inspecting electro‑mechanical hardware.
• Experience supporting engineers with test method development or test fixture improvements.
