Hours: M-F 8:30a-5p
This position is 40 hours per week, working Monday through Friday from 8:00am-4:30pm in the Department of Behavioral Health. This center “serves children and adolescents under 18 with challenges in development, emotion, thinking, and behavior.”

Responsibilities
- Provides phlebotomy services for designated site including transporting specimen to appropriate lab as needed and obtaining daily results of specimens obtained.
- Checks orders for appropriate specimens to be obtained.
- Completes lab slips accurately when necessary and/or checks accuracy of slip.
- Identifies and verifies the appropriate patient for specimen collection and collects specimen using proper technique and standard precautions.
- Prints specimen labels (computerized and addressograph), labels, and prepares specimen accurately.
- Obtains and records weights, heights, vital signs, and head circumference.
- Assists with examinations, treatments, and procedures performed in the Outpatient Department.
- Monitors and maintains phlebotomy supplies.
- Prepares exam and triage rooms prior to the start of clinic and between each patient and escorts patient/family to assigned exam room.
- Monitors the expiration dates on the general medical supplies.
- Cleans toys according to Kennedy Krieger Institute infection control guidelines.
Qualifications
Education:
- High School Graduate or equivalent.
- Current national certification in Phlebotomy is required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification required.
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate through Maryland Board of Nursing required.
Experience:
- Minimum of one year of phlebotomy experience required.
- Minimum of one year of pediatric experience preferred.
