The SLP-I will provide speech and language services to a varied population of students in a full day non-public setting or public-private partnership setting.  The SLP-I will implement and document the services as outlined in the IEP of each student, addressing the needs of students, their families, and any impact the student’s speech and language disability has on his/her ability to derive educational benefit; maintain records to comply with specified standards; and participate in intra- and interdisciplinary training and meetings

Responsibilities

  • Offer functional communication, speech and language, and feeding/oral motor assessment to determine presence of a disability in these areas and (where detected) determine the current level of functioning, with consideration to the student and family needs as well as the impact of the deficit on the student’s ability to derive educational benefit.
