Shipping Coordinator

Meriden, CT

Compensation Includes

• The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $29.00/hour

Overview

Novolex is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Shipping Coordinator to join our Meriden manufacturing team. The Shipping Coordinator role oversees daily shipping and receiving operations, ensuring finished goods, raw materials, and production supplies move accurately and efficiently. This position acts as a vital link among various departments such as Production, Warehouse, Customer Service, Planning, Purchasing, Transportation, and Quality. The coordinator maintains inventory accuracy, supports customer service goals, and complies with regulations and standards, including company policies, SQF, GMP, OSHA, and food safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily outbound shipments and inbound deliveries
• Process shipping, receiving, inventory, and transfer transactions in the ERP system
• Prepare shipping documentation, bills of lading, packing slips, labels, and carrier paperwork
• Schedule freight with approved transportation providers
• Maintain inventory accuracy through transaction processing, cycle counts, and reconciliations
• Ensure compliance with customer routing requirements and shipping specifications
• Support SQF, GMP, OSHA, food safety, and inventory traceability requirements
• Collaborate with Production, Planning, Warehouse, Customer Service, Purchasing, Maintenance, and Quality to support operational goals
• Assist with physical inventories, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 3–5 years of experience in shipping, logistics, warehouse operations, inventory control, or manufacturing
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and ERP systems
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field
• Manufacturing experience
• Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
• Forklift experience or certification

Work Environment

This position works in both an office and manufacturing environment and requires frequent interaction with warehouse and production personnel. Occasional overtime may be required to support customer demand, month-end activities, inventories, and audits.
