Overview
Are you a detail-oriented individual with a passion for analytics and trend analysis? As a Senior Accountant, you will bring a strategic approach to analyzing financial information and preparing accurate reports, ensuring our business decisions are informed and effective. The SR400 Express Lanes Project is a transformative $4.6 billion infrastructure initiative led by SR400 Constructors, a 50/50 joint venture between Flatiron Dragados and ACCIONA. Commissioned by the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) and Georgia State Road Tollway Authority (SRTA), the project will add two 16-mile express lanes from Sandy Springs MARTA Station (Exit 5) to McFarland (Exit 12), enhancing mobility along one of Georgia’s busiest corridors. With a peak workforce of over 500, the project also includes dedicated bus rapid transit stations and key bridge refurbishments. Construction is set to begin in late 2025, with substantial completion anticipated in 2031.
What you will be doing
- Prepares project journal entries and reconciles cost reports for one or more projects.
- Compiles and analyzes project pay forms to meet deadlines and ensure accuracy.
- Tracks insurance and bond information for all subcontractors.
- Assists in month end closing, budget rearrangements, and budge revisions as directed by project team.
- Sets up cost codes and cost types for project needs.
- Supports field personnel timecard entry, certified payroll and reporting as needed.
- Enter equipment time entry and reconcile equipment accruals for project needs.
- Supports accounts payable and onsite invoice entry to track project expenses and payments. Works with project personnel to expedite payment and resolves issues.
- Acts as liaison between project team and vendors or subcontractor accounting teams.
- Maintains knowledge of Company’s values and strategic plan.
- Supports published corporate policies.
- Perform additional assignments per management’s direction.
What we are looking for
- 5+ years construction field accounting experience or training required.
- Accounting experience on heavy highway construction projects preferred.
- Experience on heavy civil construction projects required.
- Experience on heavy civil construction projects $100M+ preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Construction project accounting subject matter expertise.
- Experience with JD Edwards, highly preferred
- Proven ability to support multiple project sites with varying levels of complexity.
- Strong organization and attention to detail required.
- Strong time management and self-prioritization skills required.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Developing analytical skills.
- Takes personal ownership over tasks and asks for help, when needed.
