Overview

Parkwest Bicycle Casino is looking for an enthusiastic, motivated Lead Barista to join our team and make a real difference in our guests’ experience! This position is the perfect opportunity for a confident experienced individual with a great understanding of how to deliver fantastic hospitality. Qualified invidiual will assists the Bike Cafe in executing operations during scheduled shifts. This job deploys partners and delegates tasks so that associates can create and maintain an uplifted experience for our customers.

Responsibilities

Lead and train baristas during assigned shifts and provide clear direction and support.

Assign opening, closing, cleaning, stocking, and side-work responsibilities

Provides quality beverages, whole bean and food products consistently by adhering to recipe and presentation standards

Prepare and serve hot and cold beverages, such as coffee, blended coffee, and tea, to patrons; correctly customizes orders as requested

Serve prepared foods and baked goods including sandwiches, biscotti, muffins, or other pastries.

Receive and process customer payments. Secure and accurately maintain POS

Monitor and maintain cleanliness with all equipment and keeps service stations stocked. Ensures sanitation and organization of surrounding area and completes daily assignments by end of each shift.

Follows health, safety and sanitization guidelines for all products.

Ensure team members follow established steps of service and company policies and reports deviation of policies to the F&B Manager or Supervisor.

Address operational or guest-service issues and escalate significant concerns to management.

Set the standard for professionalism, attendance, appearance, and guest service.

Verify that opening and closing checklist are completed accurately.

Provides leadership and guidance to the barista team.

Conduct regular team members to communicate goals, expectations and updates.

Forster a positive and collaborative team culture.

Ensure excellent customer service by greeting and assisting customers in a friendly and knowledgeable manner.

Maintain a strong focus on improper usage of the point of sale system.

Conduct pre-shift meetings when the manager or supervisor is not present.

Work with managers to help maintain Micros POS by updating buttons and providing feedback on ease of use while finding ways to improve and streamline all processes.

Other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Must be able to pass mandatory screening including a background check and drug test.
Must possess a California Food Handler Card.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Able to deal effectively and interact well with customers and co-workers.
Able to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
Available for full-time work which may include weekends and evening scheduling and ready for all programs and activities. Able to work varied shifts and flexible schedules.
Requires strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task effectively.
Able to work independently and within a team environment.

Physical and mental requirements:

Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the work shift
Must be able to frequently use hands and fingers to operate expresso machines, grinders, blenders and POS equipment.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 25-30 lbs.
Must be able to work in an environment that may involve heat from expresso equipment, steam, refrigerating and heavy customer and team member traffic.
Position will require repetitive use of hands for the following actions; simple and power grasping, fine manipulation, pushing & pulling and reaching for entire shift.
Position may require exposure to excessive noise.
