About the role

Aptive Resources is hiring twelve Registered Nurses to support the Patient Business Office / Community Care program at the Dayton VA Medical Center. This is a clinic-based, Monday-through-Friday RN role focused on care coordination rather than bedside care: you will review consults and referrals, assess Veterans' clinical needs, coordinate follow-up on labs, imaging and procedures, take clinical phone calls, and keep the record complete so Veterans get timely care inside and outside the VA. You will work under the professional direction of the VA Nurse Manager as part of an interdisciplinary team that includes VA providers, Advanced Medical Support Assistants and community providers.

Primary Responsibilities

What you will do

Direct patient care is estimated at 95% of the workday. Roughly three RNs from the team are required on site each day, so reliable attendance and on-time clinic presence are performance measures on this contract.

Minimum Qualifications

Qualifications, credentials and onboarding:

Required

Preferred

Health and immunization documentation (due within 5 days of award and before the first shift; tests current within the past year)

Training you will complete

VA-provided EHR/CPRS training on start, plus roughly 18 hours of annual mandatory VA online training (privacy and HIPAA, patient safety, suicide risk management, infection control, disruptive behavior prevention, MST, PACT Act toxic exposure screening, ethics, active threat and related courses). BLS/ACLS status is verified quarterly; certifications are resubmitted every two years.

Physical Requirements

Physical Requirements: This role requires the ability to stand, walk, and move throughout patient care areas for extended periods, often during long shifts. The employee must be able to lift, transfer, or reposition patients and equipment up to 50 pounds, with or without assistance, and frequently bend, kneel, reach, and push or pull wheeled equipment. The role also requires manual dexterity for tasks such as administering medication, operating medical equipment, and documenting patient care, as well as the ability to respond quickly in emergency situations. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this role.
