ABOUT HFNY

For over 30 years, Hope for New York (HFNY) has served as New York’s Coalition of Hope, bringing nonprofits, churches, and everyday New Yorkers together to show kindness and compassion to their neighbors in need. Our Coalition of Hope strengthens nonprofits, leaders, and communities on the frontlines with resources and connections that shatter scarcity and amplify impact.

HFNY invests in a diverse array of community-based nonprofits by providing grants, training, hands-on support, and volunteers to 70+ vetted, faith-based nonprofits across the five boroughs — building up their capacity to lead with excellence and serve more New Yorkers in need. We offer thousands of volunteer opportunities for individuals, workplaces, and churches — working closely with our nonprofit partners to ensure New Yorkers not only bring hope to their neighbors in need, but tangibly experience it too.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Mobilization team at HFNY is committed to mobilizing volunteers, donors, and churches to give and serve generously towards HFNY and our affiliates in order to further strengthen our impact in New York City. Our goal is to identify, cultivate, and retain volunteer, donor, and institutional relationships (churches, foundations, and corporations). We primarily do this work through individual fundraising and institutional relationships. We define success and identify metrics to evaluate internally and communicate externally.

The Development Manager is a key member of the Mobilization team at Hope For New York, reporting to the Director, Generosity. The Development Manager will:

  1. Help develop and implement a fundraising strategy to identify, cultivate, and steward existing and new mid-level donors
  2. Build and maintain strong relationships with several of Hope For New York’s key Stakeholder Groups, including the Rising Leaders Board, Young Supporters, and The Hope Exchange (monthly donors)
  3. Develop and implement a strategy to identify, cultivate, and grow engagement from existing and new institutional partners, especially churches and other organizations
