Calling All Esteemed Leaders! Are you a philanthropy leader who excels at strategic fundraising, donor engagement, foundation governance, and organizational leadership? Do you thrive in environments where relationship building, financial stewardship, board partnership, and mission-driven impact come together to advance exceptional healthcare? If so, we invite you to explore this leadership opportunity with Providence.

The Role

Reporting to the Oregon Region Chief Philanthropy Officer, the Chief Philanthropy Officer (CPO) of Providence Portland Medical Foundation serves as the senior fundraising executive responsible for leading a comprehensive philanthropy program that advances the mission, strategic priorities, and long-term sustainability of Providence Portland Medical Center. The CPO develops and executes innovative fundraising and donor engagement strategies that inspire philanthropic investment in programs, services, facilities, research, education, and patient care initiatives that improve the health and well-being of the communities Providence serves. As a key member of the hospital leadership team, the CPO collaborates closely with executive leaders, physicians, caregivers, foundation board members, volunteers, and community stakeholders to identify philanthropic priorities, deepen constituent engagement, and foster a culture of philanthropy throughout the organization.

The CPO works in partnership with a high-performing development team to drive principal, major, planned, corporate, foundation, and annual giving efforts, while ensuring exceptional donor stewardship and engagement. The role also collaborates closely with system-level philanthropy shared services leaders and colleagues across finance, operations, prospect management, events, marketing and communications, and analytics to deliver a coordinated, donor-centered fundraising program. Through strategic leadership, relationship building, and operational excellence, the CPO will strengthen philanthropic performance, enhance community partnerships, expand donor support, and secure transformational resources that advance the exceptional care, innovation, and mission of Providence.
