The Role
As a Senior Field Service Technician, you’ll operate independently in a company-provided service van, delivering advanced diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on forklifts and material handling equipment across customer sites.You’ll also serve as a technical leader — mentoring junior technicians, setting quality standards, and helping drive operational excellence in the field.
This is not an entry-level role.

What You’ll Do
Field Service & Territory Ownership
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain forklifts and material handling equipment at customer locations
- Perform preventative maintenance to maximize uptime and minimize breakdowns
- Operate independently in a fully equipped company service van
- Support warehouse, distribution, and manufacturing environments
Advanced Diagnostics & Equipment Expertise
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and diesel systems
- Execute first-time-right repairs
- Perform inspections, safety checks, and scheduled service programs
- Maintain fleet equipment to OEM and compliance standards
Leadership & Mentorship
- Train and support junior technicians
- Share technical knowledge and best practices
- Lead by example in safety, professionalism, and workmanship
Customer Communication & Documentation
- Communicate findings and service recommendations clearly
- Complete accurate service reports, work orders, and repair documentation
- Follow OSHA regulations and safety standards
Who Thrives in This Role
Required Experience
- 5+ years as a field service technician, heavy equipment mechanic, forklift technician, or industrial equipment technician
- Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Experience working independently in the field
- Valid driver’s license
Preferred (Not Required)
- ASE certifications
- Forklift or OEM certifications
- Dealer or industrial service experience
- Familiarity with diagnostic software and digital service platforms
