Underground Utility Mechanic (supporting NASA)

ASRC Federal Facilities Logistics LLC, a subsidiary of ASRC Federal, is seeking Underground Utility Mechanics to support our Prime NASA program at Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD. 

SUMMARY / GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF JOB:

Under direction of the Mechanical Supervisor, the Underground Utility Mechanic is responsible for:

• directing and overseeing excavation requirements to expose utility systems for repair and or replacement.
• Ensuring safety measures have been established to then proceed to repair or replace damaged utilities to reestablish system operability.
• Covering of exposed utilities after they are returned to service.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• Minimum 2 years as a Journeyman in HVAC/R, Plumbing, or Industrial Maintenance
• Welder Certification
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in underground utility maintenance performing the

following:

• Directing and overseeing excavation requirements to expose utility systems for repair and or replacement.
• Repairing or replacing damaged utility to reestablish operability.
