Salary:

$16.80/hour + tips (additional $6-16 per hour)

FLSA Status:

Hourly Non-Exempt

Schedule:

Part-time seasonal | Expected to end January 

Required Availability:

• Flexible schedule, including additional hours during peak holiday periods.

Preferred Availability:

• Tuesday through Saturday, primarily afternoons and evenings.
• Availability seven days a week between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM.

Required:

• Current Oregon Food Handler's Card
• Current, valid driver’s license and valid auto insurance
• At least 5 years of driving experience and a clean driving record for the past 3 years

Location & Transportation:

Elephants Central Kitchen is located at 1611 SE 7th Ave, Portland, OR. Reliable transportation to and from the worksite is required. This position also requires driving a company vehicle to make catering deliveries to various locations throughout the Portland metro area. A valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record are required.

About the Role

We are seeking dependable, customer-focused Seasonal Delivery Drivers to support our catering team during the busy season. This role is responsible for delivering catering orders safely and on time, ensuring each order is complete and arrives in excellent condition, and providing friendly, professional service at each delivery location.

This position is a great fit for someone who is reliable, organized, enjoys working with customers, and takes pride in helping create a smooth and memorable catering experience.

What You’ll Do

• Check catering orders for accuracy and completeness before departure.
• Load and transport food and catering equipment carefully to maintain product quality and presentation.
• Deliver orders on time and provide courteous, professional customer service.
• Assist with setting up when needed and confirm the customer is satisfied before leaving.
• Drive safely, park legally, and follow company driving, vehicle-use, and phone policies.
• Communicate with the manager or supervisor about departures, delivery needs, delays, and other issues.
• Complete required delivery paperwork and equipment slips.
• Check for equipment pickups and organize returned items neatly.
• Maintain a clean, professional appearance and keep work areas tidy and sanitary.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and company procedures.
• Participate in required training and continuing education.
• Follow company policies, including attendance, breaks, dress code, and phone use.
• Support the team with other delivery-related duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For

• Current Oregon Food Handler’s Card
• Current, valid driver’s license and valid auto insurance
• At least 5 years of driving experience and a clean driving record for the past 3 years
• Customer service experience; delivery or food-service experience is a plus
• Strong communication, organization, and customer-service skills
• Dependability, punctuality, and a positive, professional attitude
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and safely move catering products and equipment
• Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, holidays, and peak-season hours
