Mountain Features Crew Winter 26/27

Position Summary 

Mountain Features Crew members are responsible for the daily inspection, construction, maintenance, and repair of mountain features; snow features, terrain parks, snow play areas, unique builds and special snow projects. This position supports a fun, engaging, and positive guest experience by maintaining engaging on-mountain experiences, monitoring conditions, assisting with events, and serving as an on-snow resource for guests.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

Mountain Features & Operations

• Build, maintain, and repair mountain features; snow features, terrain parks, snow play areas, unique snow builds and special snow projects.
• Open and close features daily while following established procedures. 
• Identify and address hazards, maintenance needs, and changing conditions throughout the day.
• Install and maintain signage, fencing, closures, trail markings, activations, and other supporting infrastructure.
• Maintain required inspection and maintenance logs, enforce SMART STYLE and park rules within the terrain park. 
• Keep assigned features and activity areas clean, organized, and guest ready.
• Use terrain park features only for brief, task-specific testing related to inspection, maintenance, and operational needs.
• Be available for evening and night builds, maintenance, and special projects as operational needs require.
• Support special events and competitions in the park and across the mountain.
• Collaborate with grooming and mountain operations teams to ensure safe and functional conditions.
• Promote teamwork, innovation, and fun by contributing ideas and stepping in to help where needed.

Guest Services

• Maintain a visible on-snow presence as a park ambassador.
• Engage with guests to promote safe use of features and encourage positive experiences.
• Gather guest feedback on park features and overall experience.
• Model professionalism, respect, and exceptional service with guests and coworkers.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must pass a ski/snowboard test demonstrating expert-level ability.
• Ability and willingness to work up to 40 hours per week, including nights, weekends, evenings, and holidays.

• Basic understanding of safe operation of tools (saws, grinder, torches, drills, etc.). 

• Prior experience in a terrain park or mountain operations environment preferred.
• Ability to perform strenuous physical labor, lift 50+ lbs, and work in inclement weather conditions.
• Must be comfortable testing features such as rails, boxes, and tabletops.
• Ability to ski/snowboard while carrying hand tools (rakes, shovels, drills, etc.).
• Strong communication skills and ability to engage with guests professionally.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Good judgment and ability to react quickly under pressure.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions and maintain organized records and logs.
• Dependable and punctual, with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.

Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry objects, use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue, and effectively jump, sprint, or throw an object. Excellent stamina is required. The employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and exposure to snow/ice.
