Position Summary
Requirements
• Properly greets guests with warm welcome as they arrive in the restaurant.
• Ask if guest is first-time or has been at Sea Island before.
• Offer menu and explains the Sea Island ordering, seating and food pick-up system.
• Explain pager and seating procedure to guests when “on a wait.”
• Record pager number and number of guests in the party when on a wait. Also calls ticket number when table is available.
• Must be familiar with the menu.
• Make recommendations on popular dishes or personal favorites.
• Provide extra assistance to guests with special needs such as elderly, mothers with infants, handicapped, etc.
• Responsible for filling guests’ drinks, circulating through the dining room pouring or getting refills for guests.
• Keep host stand supplied and organized.
• Inspect bathrooms regularly for cleanliness.
• Keep tables and floors in the waiting area clean and free of debris.
• When involved in the sale of an alcoholic beverage, checks identification for age verification.
• Perform other job-related activities as required or assigned by manager.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Reading Skills
- Standing and walking during entire shift
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop and lift
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work accurately and under pressure
- Team player with other employees
- TABC Certification
