There’s More to It Than Loading a Furnace

Annealing requires both attention to detail and good judgment. You’ll need to determine how to load material efficiently—for example, matching different material lengths to maximize the amount moving through the annealer—while also arranging material in a way that minimizes scratches, dents, and handling defects.

That means thinking about quality, efficiency, and equipment utilization every time you prepare a load.

What Success Looks Like

Successful Machine Operators:

Build Specialized Manufacturing Skills

This role gives you the opportunity to develop experience with industrial annealing equipment, heat-treatment processes, production planning, material handling, quality control, equipment care, and preventive maintenance.
