Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) – Neurorehabilitation

Nexus Neurorecovery Center – Conroe | Conroe, TX

Make an Impact Where Medical, Neurological & Behavioral Health Care Come Together

Nexus Neurorecovery Center – Conroe is seeking an experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our interdisciplinary clinical team caring for individuals with complex neurological, medical, and behavioral health needs.

This is not a traditional outpatient psychiatric medication-management role. Our patients may present with acquired or traumatic brain injuries, neurological conditions, chronic and acute medical needs, cognitive impairment, and complex behavioral or psychiatric diagnoses. The ideal candidate will bring strong psychiatric expertise along with a solid medical foundation and the clinical confidence to evaluate the whole patient.

The PMHNP works collaboratively with physicians, nursing, rehabilitation, behavioral health, and other members of the treatment team to assess patients, manage psychiatric and medical concerns within scope of practice, monitor treatment response, and support continuity of care throughout the patient's rehabilitation journey.

What You'll Do

In this role, you will:

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a provider who understands that psychiatric symptoms don't occur in isolation. The strongest candidate will be comfortable evaluating how medical conditions, neurological injuries, medications, psychiatric diagnoses, cognition, and behavior intersect in a medically complex rehabilitation population.

The Candidate Who Will Thrive Here

You may be a great fit if you're a PMHNP who started your career in a strong medical environment—such as acute care, inpatient nursing, critical care, rehabilitation, or another setting requiring hands-on medical assessment—and later expanded into psychiatric care.

We're looking for someone who can confidently manage behavioral and psychiatric needs while recognizing when a change in behavior may actually be driven by an underlying medical or neurological issue.

If you enjoy complex patients, interdisciplinary collaboration, and practicing beyond the traditional outpatient psychiatry model, we'd like to hear from you.

Join Nexus Neurorecovery Center – Conroe and help patients with complex neurological, medical, and behavioral health needs achieve their highest level of recovery and independence.
