GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Whipple Farmhouse is OceanView’s upscale restaurant. It serves dinner Thursday through Saturday and lunch on Fridays and Saturdays. No late nights – shift differential – path to cross training for other locations to become full time.

Job Type: Part-time prep cook with the possibility of moving to full-time hours. Must be available nights and weekends.

Salary: Starting pay of $21.00 per hour + shift differentials up to $3.00hr.

Room to grow. Cross-train across our other outlets and move into a full-time Chef 2 role.

Duties include and are not limited to:

• Prep and cook for lunch and dinner service using real technique: roasting, braising, sautéing, baking
• Work from recipes, and contribute ideas as you grow
• Keep your station clean, organized, and up to ServSafe standards
• Help with inventory, FIFO, and daily kitchen logs

Requirements

EXPERIENCE

• 1+ year of cooking experience in a restaurant, catering, or institutional kitchen
• Comfortable with commercial equipment (slicer, mixer, steamer, and so on)
• Availability Thursday–Saturday, including evenings
• ServSafe Food Handler certification, or willingness to get it within 90 days (we’ll help)
• CPR Certification within 6 months of hire (we’ll help with this too)
• Valid Maine driver’s license (only if the role actually drives)

EDUCATION

There are no minimum education requirements. 

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES

CPR Certified or willingness to become certified within six months of hire. Valid Maine driver’s license is required. A valid Serv Safe Food Handlers Certificate or willingness and ability to become certified within 90 days of hire or as required.
