About the Role:
Muir Wood is hiring a Lead Therapist for our adolescent residential program in Riverside. This is an ideal role for a clinician with some leadership experience who is ready to be a true right hand to the Clinical Director. You’ll carry a caseload while helping guide the clinical program, supporting the team on complex cases, supervising associate-level therapists (AMFT, APCC, ASW) and practicum students, and leading the program in the Clinical Director’s absence. This is hands-on clinical leadership, not an administrative step away from the work.
Why Join Us:
- $15,000 sign-on bonus, paid in installments
- Partner closely with the Clinical Director in leading the clinical program
- Mission-driven work helping teens and families through self-harm, suicidality, and substance use
- Supportive, collaborative team across psychiatry, nursing, education, and residential care
- Full benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, FSA, 401(k) + match, PTO/Sick Pay, EAP
- Company-provided mobile phone and laptop
What You’ll Do:
- Carry a clinical caseload—individual, family, and group therapy for adolescents and families
- Partner with the Clinical Director on clinical decisions and lead the program in their absence
- Provide clinical supervision to associate-level therapists (AMFT, APCC, ASW) and practicum students working toward licensure
- Support the team with case conceptualization, treatment planning, family work, and complex cases
- Lead treatment team meetings, case consultations, and shift huddles
- Coach and mentor therapists, recovery counselors, care coordinators, and shift supervisors
- Coordinate care with psychiatrists, nurses, educators, and residential staff
- Support admissions, discharges, utilization review, and transitions of care
- Maintain compliance with CCL, Joint Commission, payer, and documentation standards
- Participate in the leadership on-call rotation

- 3+ years in adolescent residential treatment, psychiatric care, or another intensive behavioral health setting
- Experience supervising, mentoring, or informally leading other clinicians
- Strong background in trauma-informed care, family therapy, and complex co-occurring needs
