About the Role:

The Expeditor plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth and timely flow of materials, products, and information throughout the supply chain and production processes. This position is responsible for coordinating between suppliers, production teams, and logistics to prevent delays and bottlenecks that could impact project deadlines or customer satisfaction. The Expeditor monitors order statuses, tracks shipments, and proactively addresses any issues that may arise to maintain operational efficiency. By facilitating clear communication and timely follow-ups, the Expeditor helps optimize inventory levels and supports on-time delivery commitments. Ultimately, this role contributes to the overall success of the organization by ensuring that all necessary components are available when needed to meet production and customer requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience in a logistics, supply chain, or production support role.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Basic proficiency with inventory management or order tracking software.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and production scheduling.
• Familiarity with vendor management and procurement procedures.
• Certification in supply chain or logistics (e.g., APICS CPIM, CSCP) is a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and track the progress of orders from suppliers to ensure timely delivery according to production schedules.
• Communicate regularly with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams to resolve any delays or discrepancies in orders.
• Coordinate with purchasing, warehouse, and production departments to prioritize and expedite critical materials or components.
• Maintain accurate records of order statuses, shipment details, and delivery confirmations in relevant tracking systems.
• Identify potential supply chain disruptions and implement corrective actions to minimize impact on production timelines.

Skills:

The Expeditor utilizes strong communication skills daily to liaise between suppliers and internal teams, ensuring clarity and prompt resolution of issues. Organizational skills are essential for managing multiple orders simultaneously and maintaining accurate tracking records. Problem-solving abilities help the Expeditor anticipate and address supply chain disruptions before they affect production. Proficiency with order tracking and inventory software enables efficient monitoring and reporting of order statuses. Additionally, negotiation and interpersonal skills support effective collaboration with vendors to expedite critical shipments and maintain positive working relationships.
