PROCESS OPERATOR – CBE  |  Savannah, GA  |  Rotating 12-Hour Shifts

JOIN FUJI VEGETABLE OIL

Fuji Vegetable Oil manufactures and refines food-grade specialty vegetable oils used in confectionery and other food products. Our Savannah facility operates 24/7, with a focus on safety, food quality, reliable operations, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Join the CBE Processing team in a hands-on field operations role—not a control-room-only position. Learn how specialty oil products move through connected systems, monitor equipment, perform field rounds, and support safe, reliable production. You do not need to know Fuji’s process on day one; you must be willing and able to learn, accept coaching, and demonstrate competency before independent work.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Perform field rounds; monitor process flow, equipment conditions, temperatures, pressures, levels, alarms, and HMI information.

Operate pumps, valves, tanks, piping, heat exchangers, filter presses, conveyors, and other CBE equipment after qualification.

Trace material flow and verify equipment lineups before transfers, startups, shutdowns, routing changes, and changeovers.

Recognize abnormal operating conditions; complete authorized checks and promptly escalate conditions outside training or authority.

Support disciplined troubleshooting of flow, pressure, temperature, vacuum, filtration, blockages, and equipment performance.

Complete approved filter press breakdown/rebuild, cleaning, washdowns, spill response, and sanitation tasks.

Collect samples; document readings, process checks, and production information accurately.

Provide thorough shift handoffs about process status, alarms, quality issues, maintenance needs, and open follow-up.

Maintain GMP, food safety, housekeeping, PPE, LOTO, confined-space, and applicable operating requirements.

Complete assigned training and practical qualifications before independently performing designated tasks.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

Mechanical curiosity, disciplined problem-solving, strong safety judgment, and comfort working hands-on.

Initiative and a consistent, productive work pace while maintaining safety and accuracy.

Reliable attendance, accurate documentation, and clear communication across shifts.

QUALIFICATIONS – REQUIRED

High school diploma or GED.

Ability to read and interpret safety rules, SOPs, operating instructions, diagrams, gauges, and job-related documentation.

Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn pumps, valves, tanks, piping, filters, conveyors, and process equipment.

Basic measurement and math skills involving fractions, decimals, percentages, and practical calculations required for the work.

Ability to record readings and production information accurately and communicate clearly by radio and during shift handoffs.

Ability to learn multi-step procedures, respond promptly to operational priorities, and follow instructions safely and consistently.

Ability to work a rotating 12-hour schedule including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.

Successful completion of applicable pre-employment screening and job-related physical requirements, consistent with applicable law.

QUALIFICATIONS – PREFERRED

Manufacturing, industrial, process, mechanical, utilities, or maintenance-support experience.

Exposure to pumps, valves, filters, tanks, conveyors, HMIs, or continuous-process operations.

Experience in food-grade or GMP-regulated manufacturing.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds as required for essential job duties.

Stand and walk extensively during 12-hour shifts; climb stairs, ladders, catwalks, and elevated work areas as required.

Perform field work both indoors and outdoors in heat, cold, rain, humidity, and other varying weather conditions.

Bend, stoop, reach, kneel, and handle tools and process equipment; work around noise, heat, steam, oils, and cleaning activities.

Wear required PPE and follow GMP, food-safety, lockout/tagout, confined-space, and other applicable safety procedures.

Perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

Progressively qualify on assigned process equipment and tasks.

Verify before acting, recognize abnormal conditions, and escalate early.

Connect field observations to process/HMI information.

Deliver accurate records, strong shift handoffs, and dependable teamwork.
