Fuji produces high-quality, food-grade vegetable oils used in chocolate, confectionery, and other food products. Reliable laboratory testing helps our 24/7 manufacturing operation deliver products that meet customer and regulatory requirements.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Join our Quality team as a Laboratory Technician. You will perform chemical and physical testing of raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, and applicable wastewater samples. You will operate and maintain analytical instruments, verify results against specifications, and provide timely, accurate information to Production and Quality leadership.

This role is a strong fit for someone who enjoys hands-on science, precise measurements, organized documentation, safe chemical handling, and learning laboratory procedures and equipment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Testing & Quality Control

Perform approved physical and chemical analyses of raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, and applicable industrial wastewater samples.

Verify results against specifications; promptly communicate out-of-specification, unexpected, or questionable results according to procedure.

Prepare and issue accurate test results, certificates of analysis, and supporting records within required timelines.

Prepare reagents and chemical solutions using approved formulas, calculations, labeling, and handling procedures.

Instrumentation & Laboratory Operations

Set up, operate, verify, and calibrate applicable laboratory instruments, including gas/liquid chromatographs, balances, colorimeters, refractometers, and spectrophotometers, after training.

Complete routine preventive maintenance, troubleshooting within assigned authority, instrument cleaning, and laboratory housekeeping.

Maintain chemical inventory, labeling, segregation, storage, expiration controls, and approved waste disposal procedures.

Maintain accurate logs, databases, charts, reports, and traceability records.

Safety, GMP & Documentation

Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), applicable HACCP/food-safety controls, sanitation procedures, and approved laboratory SOPs.

Wear and correctly use required chemical-resistant gloves, eye/face protection, lab coats, appropriate footwear, and other task-specific PPE when handling chemicals, samples, or laboratory equipment.

Review chemical hazards and Safety Data Sheets (SDS); use designated fume hoods, ventilation, spill controls, and approved chemical handling and disposal procedures.

Maintain records supporting quality assurance, traceability, product recalls, sanitation, and hazardous-waste compliance; report unsafe conditions and deviations promptly.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

Reliable, accurate, timely testing and clear communication of results.

Consistent GMP, GLP, chemical safety, and PPE compliance.

Complete, traceable, audit-ready documentation and instrument records.

Safe, orderly laboratory operations and effective partnership with Production and Quality.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE TEAM

Attention to detail, scientific curiosity, and commitment to data integrity.

Ability to learn technical procedures, follow SOPs, and use sound judgment when results or conditions differ from expectations.

Dependability, strong organization, proactive communication, and willingness to receive feedback.
