Senior Data Analytics Consultant

SUMMARY 

Leads the consulting practice in the creative use of analytical tools within the consulting arena by working across the organization to develop new analytical methods and tools that provide insight to our clients and their support teams.  Analyze the client's underlying claims, demographic, and other HR related data to identify trends and provide actionable insights for both internal consultant and external client consumption.  Responsible for negotiating data receipt, processing raw data, analyzing trends, visualizing data in the form of charts and graphs and communicating results via formal written presentation to client.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

• Serves as a data visualization subject matter expert by translating data into consumable charts and graphs within project assignments and individual ad-hoc Service Team/Consultant work.

• Develops methodologies and techniques to identify, analyze and track important data metrics regarding items such as plan design trends, claims utilization patterns, diagnosis patterns, and other financial and marketing indicators.

• Maintains applicable knowledge of internal staff and external vendor solutions to address client opportunities;

• Offers prescriptive solutions to internal and external clients that address identified opportunities.

• Provides methods and measurements to determine and track effectiveness of implemented solutions as well as corrective solutions where relevant.

• Serves as an internal subject matter expert on the reporting tools and metrics employed, ensuring that reporting is an integral part of business development and client services.

• Develops new analytics initiatives based on market trends, client demands and innovative thinking;

• Provides thought leadership on the strategic direction of Alliant's data analytics service based on a comprehensive understanding of market trends and solutions, Alliant's client base and their needs and emerging evidence of future needs as seen through analysis of data.

• Creates client analysis document deliverables by enhancing existing content with supporting data.  Recommends and supports the implementation of new content topics based on analysis findings.

• Responsible for the effectiveness, relevance and timeliness of Alliant's data analytics work product to all customers, internal and external.

• Provides strategic guidance and recommendations for individual client data warehouse RFPs; Complies with agency management system data standards and data integrity (enters and maintains complete and accurate information).

• Creates and monitors client key performance indicators to assess performance and identify opportunities for client engagement. Recommends new standard metrics when applicable.

• Provides recruitment and overall management support for all functions of the data management team.

• Responsible for the data warehouse and analytical practice of deliverable quality assurance.

• Negotiates receipt of client data for analysis with clients and external vendors and partners.

• Complies with agency management system data standards and data integrity (enters and maintains complete and accurate information).

QUALIFICATIONS 

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in technical/science field of study

Seven (7) or more years of related work experience.

Significant experience with database management, including comfort with coding/scripting in SQL

Advance level knowledge of statistics including a thorough understanding of linear regression analysis techniques, time series analysis, significance testing and confidence intervals.

Required experience with end-user data analytics software such as PowerBI, Tableau, or other similar.

Required experience with healthcare data analysis and reporting.

Required experience leading teams and large project management

Valid Insurance License

Must obtain and maintain valid insurance license (or must be obtained within 90 days of employment)
