Enterprise D365 Solution Architect

This position can be based in Lynchburg, VA or Charlotte, NC, with hybrid work options available. Highly qualified candidates outside these locations may be considered for remote/hybrid employment; however, they must be able to travel to work onsite at one of our office locations: Lynchburg, VA; or Charlotte, NC for one week each month. To meet this requirement, remote candidates must have convenient access to a major commercial airport with consistent flight availability.

Summary

Delta Star Inc. is seeking a strategic and business-focused Enterprise D365 Solution Architect to own the end-to-end business and solution architecture of our Microsoft Dynamics 365 ecosystem. This role is responsible for ensuring Dynamics 365 effectively supports core business processes spanning sales, quote-to-order, manufacturing, supply chain, fulfillment, billing, and financial reporting. As a key technology leader, you will guide solution design, application strategy, and architectural governance while maximizing standard platform capabilities and supporting long-term scalability. What You’ll Do

As the Enterprise D365 Solution Architect, you will define and govern how Dynamics 365 supports Delta Star’s business operations today and into the future. You’ll partner with business stakeholders, analysts, technical teams, and external partners to design scalable solutions, improve business processes, and ensure technology investments deliver measurable value. Your expertise will help the organization leverage standard platform functionality while minimizing unnecessary customization and maintaining long-term platform sustainability.

A Day in the Life

Your day may include facilitating a solution design workshop, reviewing proposed system enhancements, collaborating with Finance and Supply Chain leaders on process improvements, or mentoring analysts on D365 best practices. You’ll evaluate business requirements, develop future-state process designs, review architectural decisions, and help teams balance user needs, business value, and platform capabilities. You’ll also stay current on Microsoft’s roadmap and identify opportunities to improve operational performance through technology innovation.

Specific Duties

• Own the end-to-end business and solution architecture for Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O) and Customer Engagement (CE).
• Lead solution design efforts across sales, quote-to-order, manufacturing, supply chain, inventory, fulfillment, billing, and finance processes.
• Ensure business requirements align with D365 capabilities, organizational objectives, and long-term application strategy.
• Educate stakeholders on D365 functionality and promote effective use of standard platform capabilities.
• Develop and maintain the D365 roadmap to support business growth while minimizing unnecessary customization.
• Provide architecture leadership and oversight for enhancements, integrations, and process improvement initiatives.
• Partner with business analysts and functional analysts to translate requirements into scalable and supportable solutions.
• Lead architecture governance across internal teams and external partners.
• Evaluate new Dynamics 365 capabilities and Microsoft platform investments to identify opportunities for operational improvement and business value.
• Facilitate solution design workshops and architecture reviews.
• Review and approve system changes, customizations, and integration designs.
• Define future-state business processes and solution architectures across D365 applications.
• Partner with business teams to resolve complex process and system challenges.
• Coach and mentor analysts and project team members on solution design principles and D365 best practices.
• Guide external vendors and implementation partners to ensure alignment with architecture standards and business objectives.

Position Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O) and Customer Engagement (CE) experience supporting manufacturing, supply chain, and finance business processes.
• Experience leading enterprise solution architecture, business process design, and application roadmap development.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and provide architectural guidance to business teams, technical teams, and external partners.
• Experience working within complex manufacturing or industrial environments preferred.

Skills & Competencies

• Deep expertise in Dynamics 365 F&O and CE architecture, capabilities, and business processes.
• Strong understanding of quote-to-order, manufacturing, supply chain, sales, fulfillment, billing, and finance workflows.
• Knowledge of solution architecture, integrations, security, data architecture, and enterprise application design.
• Experience with Microsoft technologies including Power Platform, Dataverse, Microsoft Fabric, Azure DevOps, and Microsoft 365.
• Ability to translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable, and supportable technology solutions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proven ability to influence stakeholders and guide enterprise technology decisions.

Travel Requirements

Approximately 10–20% travel to support business operations, project initiatives, vendor engagements, and company locations.
