We are looking for an experienced and strategic Director of Public Relations and Communications to lead and elevate Egnyte's communications function. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, you will shape how Egnyte is perceived by media, analysts, customers, partners, and the broader market. You will own our public relations strategy and lead a team with dedicated ownership across executive communications, social media, and internal communications, ensuring every touchpoint reinforces Egnyte's position as the trusted leader in content security and governance. This is a high-impact leadership role for a communications professional who can build and inspire a team, think strategically, and execute with precision.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Public Relations

• Develop and execute a comprehensive PR strategy that drives awareness, credibility, and share of voice in Egnyte's core markets, putting Egnyte's AI capabilities on the map
• Build and maintain strong relationships with tier-1 technology, business, and vertical media outlets, with a focus on driving meaningful media relationships and earning AI citations that extend Egnyte's reach and authority.
• Manage all aspects of media relations, including proactive pitching, press release development, press tour coordination, and rapid response.
• Oversee relationships with external PR agencies and ensure alignment with brand and business objectives.
• Develop thought leadership content and byline strategy in partnership with subject matter experts across the company, establishing Egnyte's executives as genuine thought leaders in the space.
• Amplify Egnyte's digital presence through Answer Engine Optimization, ensuring the brand is consistently surfaced and cited across AI-driven search and discovery platforms.
• Run a modern digital PR program that actually moves the needle.
• Track, report, and continuously improve on PR KPIs including media coverage, sentiment, share of voice, and domain authority.

Executive Communications

• Lead the team responsible for partnering with the CEO, C-suite, and senior leadership to develop compelling narratives, talking points, presentations, and speeches.
• Ensure executives are well-prepared for media interviews, panel appearances, earnings calls, and industry speaking engagements.
• Provide strategic direction for the executive communications editorial calendar, including blog posts, LinkedIn content, and op-eds.

Social Media

• Guide the team responsible for setting the editorial direction and day-to-day management of Egnyte's corporate social media channels.
• Provide strategic guidance on the social media content calendar, ensuring consistent, on-brand storytelling across all platforms.
• Oversee social media campaigns tied to product launches, company news, events, and industry moments.
• Ensure the team monitors social listening and the competitive landscape to identify opportunities and risks.
• Review performance reporting on social media metrics, engagement rates, follower growth, and campaign ROI.
• Champion cross-functional collaboration with Demand Generation and Product Marketing to amplify integrated campaigns.

Team Leadership

• Build, manage, and mentor a high-performing communications team with clear ownership across executive communications, social media, and internal communications, fostering a culture of creativity, accountability, and continuous growth.
• Set clear goals and priorities for direct reports, providing regular feedback, coaching, and professional development opportunities.
• Manage and optimize the communications budget, including agency relationships, tools, and vendor contracts.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:

• 10+ years of progressive experience in corporate communications, PR, or a related field, with at least 3 years managing and developing a team.
• Proven track record of building and executing PR strategies for B2B SaaS or Software technology companies 
• Deep media relationships across business and technology press, with a proven track record of earning coverage in top-tier national, trade, and vertical-focused publications.
• Exceptional writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex topics into clear, compelling narratives.
• Experience coaching and preparing C-suite executives for media, speaking engagements, and other high-visibility opportunities.
• Strong social media acumen with demonstrated ability to grow corporate brand presence on LinkedIn and other platforms.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

COMPENSATION:

• Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across multiple U.S. geographic locations, and pay varies based on defined markets. The annual market base salary range for this position is $190,000 – $225,000 USD. Pay varies by work location and may also be dependent on job-related skills, knowledge, and/or experience.
