Graduate Practical Nurse

Concordia Visiting Nurses is seeking Graduate Practical Nurses for full-time or Part-time positions to cover territories in Butler, Clarion and Armstrong Counties, allowing you to work close to your home.

The graduate practical nurse is a person who has completed an approved nursing education program in Pennsylvania or any other state of the United States who has not taken the NCLEX licensing examination. The graduate practical nurse holds a “Temporary Practice Permit [TPP]” for the state of Pennsylvania and practices under the supervision of an experienced Pennsylvania registered nurse who is physically present in the area where the graduate nurse is practicing.

QUALIFICATIONS for the Graduate Practical Nurse:

• Completion of an approved nursing education program in Pennsylvania or any other state of the United States, having not taken the NCLEX licensing examination,
• Employment may begin after a Temporary Practice Permit is issued by the Board of Nursing.
• The Pennsylvania Temporary Practice Permit expires immediately when the results of the first licensing examination are received.  If the graduate nurse fails the first licensing examination, employment as a graduate nurse will cease and the Temporary Practice Permit is rescinded.
• Reliable, independent means of transportation to make home visits. Drivers must have a valid driver’s license and drive a vehicle with insurance limits as established by the state
