BILINGUAL SPANISH PROGRAM ASSISTANT

Established in 1926, Family Service League is a social services agency transforming lives and communities through mental health, addiction, housing, and essential human services with more than 60 social service programs in over 20 locations.

SCHEDULE:

 Monday 9am-5pm 

 Tuesday 9am-5pm 

Wednesday 12pm-8pm 

Thursday 9am-5pm 

Friday- 9am-5pm. 

**As needs of the center emerge, the schedule might vary( 6pm closure or at least one Saturday morning) and notification will be provided ahead of time.

SUMMARY:

Family Service League is seeking a full-time Bilingual Program Assistant for our Huntington Family Center. The Program Assistant will be responsible for greeting guests, identifying the initial purpose for their visit, and providing support during activities and programs. The Bilingual Program Assistant will report to the Program Director and ensure that the center is running efficiently and effectively. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• The Bilingual Program Assistant will assist with administrative duties, such as consumer correspondence, referral information gathering, staff scheduling.
• Meet and greet visitors.
• Opening and closing of center 
• Maintain inventory of program supplies and order as needed.
• Schedule appointments for clients for support programs.
• Create and update intake records in corresponding databases.
• Perform concrete services as needed.
• Perform general office duties such as answering phones and receiving messages.
• Assist the Program Director to ensure the center runs efficiently 
• Assist Case Managers and Youth Workers if needed.
• Operate office equipment.
• Complete program training as assigned.
• Represent the agency in community-based initiatives.
• Co-facilitate and participate in center sponsored activities.
• Understand and support FSL’s mission, organization-wide goals, and program objectives.
• All other duties as required, 

 QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Minimum of 1 year of related experience working with a multicultural population required.

Must be a self-starter and able to work both independently and as a part of a team in a high-volume Family Center.

Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and verbal, and written communication skills required.

Must possess the ability to multi-task.

Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office required.

Valid and clean NYS Driver’s License preferred. 

Bilingual in Spanish required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position often requires sitting and working at a computer for extended periods of time. Able to lift up to 25 lbs.
