Job Summary

We're looking for an Insights Associate to help transform consumer, category, and performance data into actionable recommendations that drive growth for Bluebird and the brands we support.

This role sits at the intersection of analytics, category strategy, shopper behavior, and retail performance. You'll help identify opportunities, uncover trends, evaluate market dynamics, and deliver insights that support smarter business decisions across sales, retail media, search, and client teams.

The ideal candidate is analytical, curious, and passionate about understanding what drives consumer behavior. This person enjoys solving problems, challenging assumptions, and translating data into clear recommendations that help brands win at retail.

This is position is based out of our Minneapolis, MN office and requires you to be in office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

What You'll Do

Consumer & Shopper Insights

• Analyze shopper behavior, purchase trends, and category performance to understand what influences consumer decisions
• Identify consumer needs, motivations, and purchase drivers through quantitative and qualitative research
• Monitor changes in shopper behavior and recommend actions based on emerging insights
• Support teams with consumer-focused recommendations that drive business growth and improve performance

Market, Trend & Competitive Analysis

• Conduct category, competitive, and market research to identify emerging trends and growth opportunities
• Monitor retail and industry dynamics to understand shifts in consumer demand and retailer priorities
• Evaluate competitor activity, assortment strategies, pricing, and promotional trends
• Identify opportunities that help clients strengthen their market position and grow category share

Retail & Category Strategy

• Evaluate assortment, pricing, distribution, and category performance opportunities across retail channels
• Analyze product performance and identify opportunities for expansion, optimization, or innovation
• Support recommendations related to new items, line extensions, pricing strategies, and category growth initiatives
• Help clients and internal teams prioritize opportunities that drive the greatest business impact

Data Analysis & Business Insights

• Analyze large datasets to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and performance drivers
• Develop recurring reports, scorecards, dashboards, and business summaries
• Support pricing analysis, category reviews, and performance tracking initiatives
• Translate complex data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations
• Help teams use data more effectively to inform decision-making

Data Storytelling & Reporting

• Transform insights into clear, compelling presentations, reports, and visualizations
• Deliver findings in a way that is actionable and easily understood by stakeholders
• Support client presentations, internal planning sessions, and strategic discussions
• Ensure insights are communicated clearly and aligned with business objectives

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with Sales, Search, Insights, Retail Media, and Client teams to support business priorities
• Collaborate across functions to ensure insights are aligned with strategic objectives and timelines
• Support shared KPIs and performance measurement initiatives
• Contribute to a data-driven culture that values curiosity, learning, and continuous improvement

Process Improvement & Innovation

• Help refine and improve how insights are collected, analyzed, and shared across the organization
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency, consistency, and accessibility
• Explore new tools, technologies, and AI capabilities that improve analysis and insight generation
• Support the development of scalable processes that enhance the impact of the Insights team

What We're Looking For

Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Analytics, Economics, Statistics, or a related field
• Experience in retail analytics, category management, merchandising, buying, market research, or related fields preferred
• Experience working with data, reporting, and business analysis preferred
• Retail, CPG, eCommerce, or consumer products experience is a plus

Skills & Competencies

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to synthesize large amounts of data into clear business recommendations
• Proficiency with Excel, reporting tools, dashboards, and data analysis platforms
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to translate complex information into compelling stories and actionable insights
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable working with ambiguity and challenging assumptions
• Curiosity and willingness to continuously learn

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with syndicated data sources, retail analytics platforms, or business intelligence tools
• Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, Excel modeling, or similar reporting platforms
• Experience developing presentations and communicating insights to stakeholders
• Experience leveraging AI tools to support research, analysis, reporting, and workflow optimization
