What does your day look like with Partner?

Anesthesia is fundamental to almost every department in veterinary medicine. It is a vital service that requires hypervigilance, communication, and collaboration. Recognizing the importance of this skill, PVESC is looking for an anesthesia only LVT. Your primary case load will be for CT scans, MRIs, and any daytime emergency surgeries or procedures. 

Your post anesthesia patient care will be minimal. You will coordinate with specialists to create drug protocols and anesthetic plans. Cases will be prioritized based on urgency, and you will work with a diverse patient population that will benefit from your advanced skills and talents. This role is ideal for the licensed veterinary technician who is focused on stellar anesthetic patient care, working with doctors who rely on your anesthetic knowledge to make informed decisions, and using advanced equipment to promote a safe/stress-free environment. Our psychologically safe workplace provides the framework for you to be successful in this role. Our VTS in anesthesia and analgesia ensures you attain and achieve any additional training you need. 

This role is a four 10-hour shift role with various shifts, that ideally participates in rotation or occasional weekend on-call.  Utilizing your skills, this role also supports the training of safe anesthesia practices for your peers in the hospital.

Our 20,000 square foot reimagined building and team design includes:

• Conscious and deliberate building design layout that encourages interdepartmental communication and collaboration

Requirements

• Graduate of accredited veterinary technology program; veterinary technician “in good standing” so applicant is or eligible to transfer registration to Virginia
• Minimum 1-year veterinary technician experience
• Veterinary specialty experience is preferred, but not required
• Knowledge and dedication to high standard anesthesia and patient care practices
• Strong communication skills with clients and teammates; ability to collaborate with the teams across the Partner network
• A curious and motivated energy

Physical Requirements (ability to)

• Quickly process, analyze, and react to unplanned and emergent medical situations without delay, so as to ensure the safety of team members and patients
• Stand for up to 12 hours with limited breaks
• Lift up to 40 lbs without assistance
