Job Summary:

Job Description:

• Monitors project costs across the different projects, ensuring budget adherence and financial accuracy.

• Prepares periodic variance analysis reports to track project performance progress, identify variances, and support informed decision-making.

• Analyzes cost trends and forecasts to support project teams with actionable insights, contributing to proactive budget management

• Identifies process inefficiencies impacting projects cost and develops corrective strategies, improving cost control reliability and consistency.

• Applies industry best practices to internal cost control standards, enhancing reporting quality and team alignment.

• Follows established company policies, procedures, and standards to ensure full compliance with applicable laws and industry regulations.

• Participates in storm restoration tasks and assigned drills to contribute to the safe and reliable recovery of services.

• Performs additional tasks aligned with role expectations and qualifications to support team goals and operational flexibility.

Additional Job Description:

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field from an accredited university.

Experience

• 3 years of experience in project accounting, cost monitoring, or cost control, preferably within a regulated utility or EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) environment.

Additional experience may substitute for required education when it aligns with the competencies and knowledge necessary for the role:

• Associate’s degree in a relevant field may substitute when accompanied by a minimum of 5 years of experience in project cost control.

Competencies (Skills)

• Experience with Earned Value Management and Analysis in Project Cost and Progress Monitoring is preferred.

• Solid understanding of project lifecycle cost management, cost‑control methodologies, earned value principles, and the integration of scope and cost.

• Highly organized, with strong time‑management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in fast‑paced, multi‑project or portfolio environments.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and documentation quality.

• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with experience working across cross‑functional teams such as engineering, procurement, and construction.

• Experience in utility, infrastructure, or capital program environments, with preferred familiarity with FEMA or federally funded project requirements.

• Strong proficiency in Excel, Power BI, and other project‑related financial tools.

• Strong analytical capabilities, including cost variance analysis, trend evaluation, progress assessment, and translating data into meaningful insights.

• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.

Licenses/Certifications

• Certified Cost Technician (CCT) is preferred.
