- Sufficient experience to acquire a general knowledge of landscaping and horticulture or a minimum of two years experience in using and minor repair of grounds maintenance equipment.
- Years of experience determined by quality of assignments related to position responsibility.
- Skills in verbal and written communication required.
- Ability to operate landscaping equipment to include power mowers, edgers, pruning equipment, spraying equipment, etc.
- Maintains hospital grounds and equipment including:
- cleans hospital grounds and parking areas of debris and litter
- mows, prunes, edges, weeds, fertilizes, waters and chemically sprays landscaping
- repairs parking lot pavement areas including: minor asphalt repair and curb repair
- Performs maintenance on ground equipment including:
- operates landscaping equipment
- repairs and maintains landscaping equipment: changes oil, plugs, and belts
- performs preventative maintenance
- Assembles and maintains landscaping sprinkler system
- Install landscapes including plants, trees, shrubbery and turf
- Assist in performing maintenance of other areas including: cleaning, repairing, etc., as directed
- Perform other duties as assigned
