Overview

As a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) at the ASPCA Animal Hospital, you’ll play a vital role caring for animals who have experienced cruelty and neglect, while working alongside a dedicated team focused on eliminating barriers to essential veterinary care—ensuring every pet receives compassionate, high-quality treatment, no matter their owner's financial circumstances.

Who We Are

The ASPCA Animal Hospital (AAH) is designed to provide life-saving care and relieve suffering for animal victims of cruelty and neglect who come to us through internal partners (our own ASPCA adoption center, kitten nursery, and community advocate team) and external partners (NYPD and other NYC organizations). Additionally, we provide subsidized care exclusively for animals whose owners are experiencing financial challenges and could not otherwise afford medical care for their pet.

The ASPCA Animal Hospital (AAH), is passionate about minimizing fear, anxiety, and stress and pain in our patients. Team members in this position are responsible for providing services and communication to clients, members of the public, co-workers, and patients that are consistent with our practices' standards and Fear Free values.

What You’ll Do

The AAH LVT plays a pivotal role in setting the standard for clinical excellence, professionalism, and compassionate care within our hospital. Our LVTs are the heart of our medical team—driven by a passion for animal welfare and a commitment to ensuring every patient receives the highest standard of care.

At AAH, you'll work side-by-side with a dedicated group of professionals to provide skilled, efficient, and empathetic treatment to both outpatients and hospitalized animals. You'll be empowered to use your full range of technical skills while collaborating closely with veterinarians and fellow technicians to deliver practical, high-quality care in a mission-driven environment.

In this role, you'll also have opportunities to support the incredible work being done at the Animal Recovery Center (ARC), stepping in to assist as needed with cases involving animals rescued from cruelty, neglect, and disaster situations.

We're not just a hospital, we're a team dedicated to reducing fear, stress, pain, and anxiety in every patient.
